Eis o que \u00e9 o Shield, como ele se manifesta no dia a dia e as orienta\u00e7\u00f5es do especialista para se envelhecer bem.<\/p>\n<p>O primeiro ponto a ser observado \u00e9 a qualidade do sono. Os indiv\u00edduos devem procurar dormir de sete a oito horas por noite. Um descanso adequado \u00e9 essencial para o funcionamento cerebral. Quando se dorme bem, o sono n\u00e3o apenas consolida mem\u00f3rias, mas tamb\u00e9m elimina toxinas do c\u00e9rebro. Tanzi n\u00e3o tem um hor\u00e1rio fixo para dormir, mas calcula retroativamente a partir da hora em que precisa acordar para garantir que durma pelo menos sete horas. Uma hora antes de precisar dormir, ele desliga a TV e para de navegar no celular.<\/p>\n<p>Um segundo ponto destacado por Tanzi \u00e9 a capacidade de lidar com o estresse. Segundo ele, o estresse c\u00f4nico tem, cada vez mais, sido associado ao decl\u00ednio cognitivo acelerado.<\/p>\n<p>Preocupar-se com as constantes exig\u00eancias da vida contempor\u00e2nea, incluindo a hiperconectividade, tem criado n\u00edveis de estresse sem precedentes. Para Tanzi, dentre as principais estrat\u00e9gias para lidar com o estresse est\u00e1 a medita\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p>O especialista ressalta um terceiro item fundamental: a intera\u00e7\u00e3o com amigos. Segundo Tanzi, \u00e9 fundamental manter uma vida social ativa. Dentre as principais associa\u00e7\u00f5es ao aumento de risco de doen\u00e7as neurodegenerativas est\u00e1 a solid\u00e3o. Segundo ele, estar com quem se gosta \u00e9 um dos principais est\u00edmulos ao c\u00e9rebro.<\/p>\n<p>A relev\u00e2ncia dos exerc\u00edcios f\u00edsicos \u00e9 o quarto fator destacado pelo especialista. Segundo ele, a pr\u00e1tica regular de atividade f\u00edsica aumenta o fluxo sangu\u00edneo para o c\u00e9rebro e estimula o crescimento de novas conex\u00f5es neurais. Ele afirma que um estudo publicado pela Nature Medicine, em novembro passado, indica que para cada mil passos que uma pessoa d\u00e1, o desenvolvimento da doen\u00e7a de Alzheimer \u00e9 retardado em um ano.<\/p>\n<p>O professor de Harvard ressalta ser fundamental para retardar o envelhecimento continuar aprendendo coisas novas, isto \u00e9, trabalhar o intelecto. Segundo Tanzi, desafiar o c\u00e9rebro experimentando novas atividades para fortalecer as vias neurais \u00e9 o melhor caminho. Ele lembra que aprender coisas novas cria novas conex\u00f5es, conhecidas como sinapses. Nosso c\u00e9rebro contem dezenas de trilh\u00f5es delas, formando uma rede neural que armazena todas as nossas mem\u00f3rias. Quando as sinapses se deterioram, conduz ao comprometimento cognitivo ou \u00e0 dem\u00eancia. Aprender um novo idioma, tocar um instrumento, entrar para um coral, ler livros, ouvir podcasts, tudo isso s\u00e3o atividades que estimulam novas sinapses.<\/p>\n<p>Por fim, Tanzi ressalta a import\u00e2ncia para o c\u00e9rebro de se seguir uma dieta saud\u00e1vel. \u201cCostum\u00e1vamos dizer que o que \u00e9 bom para o cora\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 bom para o c\u00e9rebro, e descobrimos que isso \u00e9 verdade\u201d, diz Tanzi, que confessa preferir uma dieta mediterr\u00e2nea rica em frutas, verduras e azeite de oliva.<\/p>\n<p>Todos os pontos destacados pelo professor, combinado com a realiza\u00e7\u00e3o de check-ups regulares, contribuem para a longevidade saud\u00e1vel.<\/p>\n<p>Sa\u00fade \u00e9 preven\u00e7\u00e3o!<\/p>\n<p><em>Gilberto Ururahy \u00e9 m\u00e9dico h\u00e1 mais de 40 anos, com longa atua\u00e7\u00e3o em Medicina Preventiva.
